The Citizens Advisory Committee formulated by Wake County School employees and bi-partisan volunteers after the defeat of the 1999 school bond devised a twenty-eight point report for school facilities and funding that was agreed upon by both the Wake County Schools and County Commissioners. Yet three of the money saving, educationally enhancing techniques have not been implemented despite our governing officials lobbying the public on the effectiveness of this comprehensive agreement. Millions of dollars have not been saved as more year-round and charter schools and a building authority have not been employed but we are once again being asked for a citizen funded bond.
The county commissioners and schools have not fulfilled their original duties but are asking for more funding during a economic downturn, in which a $18,000 pay raise to the School Superintendent was passed despite teaching staff getting 1.8%. Since truth is devalued as well as teachers, I/(we) personally employ all to vote no on the bond and demand more fiscal and truthful responsiveness from our leaders.

=====
Vote "NO" as the schools and county commissioners have not kept their word regarding charter and year-round schools and a facilities maintenance authority that was to be implemented per their agreement with the Citizens Advisory Cmte, a cmte made up of school employees and bi-patisan volunteers.
