Dorothy Dix

Resolution - March 29, 2007

WHEREAS: The 306 acre tract known as the Dorothy Dix property is being considered as to its future use, we the members of the Wake County Taxpayers Association, submit the following:

The Dorothy Dix property is, without doubt, one of the most, if not the most, beautiful, and historic sites in Wake County, still to this date, left undisturbed by non-characteristic development.

The Dix property has great significance in the history of Wake County. It must be properly preserved in its beauty, historical significance, and the role it plays in providing a memorial to tranquility and enjoyment for current and future generations.

No other site exists or compares with what this 306 acre tract offers to the significance and natural beauty that is so needed in our time.

THEREFORE, WE, the members of the WAKE COUNTY TAXPAYERS ASSOCIATION do urge that the 306 acre Dix property be preserved as parkland, and kept undisturbed by development not in keeping with its historical and scenic meaning and beauty.

Signed,
Wake County Taxpayers Association Board of Directors, and Association members WAKE COUNTY TAXPAYERS ASSOCIATION
